Jenny & Brandon got married on a GORGEOUS August day at one of my fav local venues, Walker Farms. I love their outdoor, waterfront ceremonies and open, yet intimate receptions. (plus the lighting is always amazing!) Jenny & Brandon's wedding day was even more wonderful than I expected. Although the wedding day was about them, they took their guests into consideration - including shifting the ceremony location over into the shade and providing water bottles & hand fans for their guests (August in TN = sweaty wedding guests) :) The best detail of the day for me had to be their wedding favors - pears & hand-stamped favor bags in which to take them home. I really enjoyed working with this couple and it was such a pleasure creating their wedding day films.

We're currently in the process of editing our second project with Terry Boykin, owner/instructor of Playmaker Basketball Academy. Terry is possibly one of the most self-motivated people I know. He's incredibly passionate about his work, which in turn makes us passionate about giving him the best product possible. One of my all-time top 5 fav things at a wedding is a live band, so when I found out Hannah & Dustin were having Black Widow perform at their reception, I knew this was going to be an awesome wedding day! This super sweet couple had a beautiful ceremony in downtown Springfield, TN, followed by a rockin reception at a nearby farm. Check out their trailer film, which mixes shots from their ceremony with footage of them dancin the night away!

Olivia and Jeff had a big wedding - lots of family, lots of friends, lots of guests, lots of fun! Yet somehow, even though they were hosting quite the shindig, they managed to have a truly intimate ceremony and reception. The lighting at the ceremony focused your attention of what was important - the bride & groom - and their dj provided fabulous lighting at the reception so the dance floor was always on display. I had a great time at this wedding and I really enjoyed editing this wedding day highlights film. Enjoy!

2011 Miss River Queen

This was the 3rd year in a row we've been invited to film the Miss River Queen & Teen Pageant, which takes place every year right here in Clarksville, TN. We love being a part of the local community and I'm so honored when we are asked to film local events, including the Miss River Queen & Teen Pageant. Maybe a month before the shoot, I had asked Laura, of Laura Kay Photography, if I could come along and film her photographing the models & dresses and create a little multimedia. She was down so I showed up at her house on a super Sunday for a seriously awesome backyard gown shoot. You can read more about the shoot on Laura's blog (click here to check it out). The gowns were provided by The Bride's Boutique and decor by Elements Event Planning & Design Firm. Everything turned out perfectly and I'm so happy that I came along so I could create this little multimedia film below. Enjoy!

I've shot WITH my photographer friend Bethany many times, but last fall was the first time I shot AT her. :) She wanted a promo film to show off her mad photog skills and I love filming & editing multimedia's, so of course, I was down! We shot a day after session for one of her previous bride & groom's - it was fall, it was farm, it was fabulous! Then this past winter, Bethany set up an urban engagement shoot with one of her soon-to-be bride & groom's. It turned out SO perfectly! It really shows off her talents, shooting 2 completely different couples, in 2 completely different settings - country and city. I love the final product, but more importantly, Bethany loves it! :)

I LOVED this wedding. Heather & Alberto were so sweet and so fun, and they probably had my favorite reception music to date. :) They got married on a Wednesday back in December - it was my first Wednesday wedding and I was curious about the date selection, until I heard Heather's mom's toast (included in their highlights video) explaining that her parents had been married 54 years ago that day. How cool is that?? They had a beautiful ceremony followed by a crazy fun reception, including a photo booth, mariachi band, and all the 90s music one could hope for! I hope you enjoy their highlights film as much as I enjoyed being a part of their wedding day!

Moving forward with our Best of 2010 Awards, we have the Best Bridesmaids Dance...and it's a tie!! Our first winners come from Mallory & Aaron's wedding day in June 2010. Mallory and her bridesmaids choreographed their dance based off the "Jai Ho" music video from the movie Slumdog Millionaire. I thought they did an AMAZING job! So much so, that I even filled one afternoon at "work" memorizing the dance as well. :) Thanks for the inspiration ladies!

P.S. My favorite part of this clip HAS to be the reception guests in the background trying to do the dance with them. :) Check it out!

Best Toast of 2010

Dive In!

As a wedding vendor, one of the most exciting, and exhausting, days of the year has to be our local bridal show. Every January, ClarksvilleBrides.com puts together our local show here in Clarksville, TN. This video highlights the show, with features like the cake dive, fashion show (including vintage dresses), scavenger hunt, game show, etc. Beth, the owner of ClarksvilleBrides.com, approached me prior to the show with a video idea. She thought we could do a "building a bridal show" segment by setting up the camera on stage and filming throughout the day. One of the features on our cameras that I don't get to use nearly enough is the time delay, so I was super excited! We got there first thing in the morning, set up the camera on a time delay, and then ignored it for most of the day. :) The footage turned out great! At first it was pretty slow, as vendors trickled in throughout the morning and the last of the decorations were put up. Then there's this burst of energy when the brides-to-be and their guests fill the room and eventually set themselves in front of the stage for the entertainment. I think it was an amazing idea and it was the perfect intro into the highlights film.

Heather & Alberto: Fiesta Trailer!

I heart wedding trailers! They are so fun and so dramatic and they always leave the viewers wanting more. This trailer is no exception! Heather & Alberto threw quite the fiesta a couple weeks ago on a fabulous Wednesday evening in Kentucky. From the gorgeous ceiling drapery to the mariachi band, they left no detail unaccounted for. One of my favorite details of the evening had to be the Spanish tile inspiration that popped up on the cake, the programs, the place cards, etc. Check it out:

Joann & Ryan: The Mosaic

Ryan & Joann are loaded with personality and so is their wedding highlights film. They had an incredibly meaningful, and entertaining, wedding ceremony, which I had no choice but to highlight in their film. :) I really believe that it's the fun little moments that make a wedding unique and unforgettable and, lucky for this editor, Ryan & Joann's wedding day was full of them. A couple months ago, our buddy Rick got "wife'd up" (his words - not mine) to our buddy Bethany (of Bethany Ann Photography - shameless plug - ahhh!). :) We had so much fun filming that day - but I had even more fun editing their footage. I laughed, I cried, I laughed some more! I'm so happy for Rick & Bethany - they are perfect for each other! I'm so grateful that they completely opened up their wedding day to us and we were able to capture all the awesomeness that is Rick & Bethany!

Joann & Ryan's Trailer

For me, the word "fun" just epitomizes Ryan & Joann's wedding day. They were so much fun to film, edit, and, really, just to be around. There were so many great aspects of their wedding day, including a "hand fasting" ceremony, burlesque masks at the reception, and, what was by far my favorite part of the whole day, when Ryan serenaded his new bride and wedding guests at their reception. Both the ceremony and reception were located at Kuttawa Harbor House, with coordinating by Visions by Debra.

James & Andrea's Mosaic

We've shot over 130 weddings, but this was the first one we shot in HD. Andrea & James are a super sweet, super fun couple - and we happen to share a last name (no relation...we think) :) The weather was ominous looking all day (great shots for the videographer - not so great for an outdoor ceremony), but the weather cleared up in time and it was a gorgeous wedding day. Side note: it's not very often that I get to say "I'm gonna go shoot the horses" but thankfully this was one of those occasions. Check out their Mosaic (highlights of the day) Film below:

Rick & Bethany's Trailer

Back in October, a couple of our best friends got married...to each other. :) Rick and Bethany are an awesome couple and it was, by far, the most fun I've ever had shooting preceremony footage. I believe the word "epic" was uttered at least a hundred times that day...mostly by me. This trailer highlights a little of the aforementioned preceremony footage and their beautiful ceremony, located on an actual runway at Bethany's parents home.

Rescue Me

We got a call from North Shore Animal League America last week about a puppy mill rescue transfer here in Clarksville, TN. There's this amazing group out of Colorado, National Mill Dog Rescue, that travels across the country rescuing animals from dog mills. They picked up the puppies from a couple mills in Missouri and dropped them off at Precious Friends Puppy Rescue & Adoption to be vaccinated and cleared by a vet to travel up to NSALA in New York. This is the second puppy mill rescue that we've shot and it's by far the most rewarding experience that we've ever had the opportunity to film & edit.

The first new film highlights Mallory & Aaron's reception, shot at The Mill at Lebanon, and features the DJ services of Spangler Entertainment. There were many great details at Aaron & Mallory's wedding day, but one of my favorites had to be the Trivia. The DJ asked questions about Mallory & Aaron and the guest that answered the question correctly had their table released to the buffet line. It was a great way to keep the line from getting backed up and it was cute getting to hear little trivia facts about Aaron & Mallory.

The second new film highlights Travis & Whitney's reception, shot right here in Clarksville at The Cumberland Room. The wedding day was coordinated by Carly Rager Event Design and Coordinating and photographed by Joan of Art Photography. Whitney & Travis had such a fun reception - definitely one of my favorites of the year! The best moment for me had to be in the middle of the bridal parties' toasts. There were some beautiful, emotional toasts, and then one of the bridesmaids stood up and said "I just want you to know - I just saved 15% by switching to Geico." The room burst into laughter and it was just a perfect moment! I loved it!

Erin & Scott's Reception

Wow! We have been slackin' on the bloggin' this year! Good news is we have plenty of films to share. First up is a reception highlights film from Erin & Scott's wedding at Cedarwood way back in May. Lots of dancing in this film - including some clips of the ever-popular Bridesmaids Dance.

One of my favorite details from the day had to be their cake, which was designed to match Erin's dress. It was a traditional tiered wedding cake, decorated with a ribbon and brooch identical to the ones on the dress. You can check out the dress and cake in the reception film (above).

St Jude Wedding Favors

Back in April, we offered a special videography promotion where we donated 10% of all weddings booked during the month to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. It was a big success and we can't wait to do it again next year. Until then, couples can make a difference in another way, through St Jude Wedding Favors:

Puppy Mill Rescue

We were contacted by North Shore Animal League America a couple weeks ago about filming the transfer of 100 puppies at Precious Friends here in Clarksville. The animals were rescued from puppy mills in Missouri and Oklahoma by National Mill Dog Rescue. They were brought to Precious Friends to be checked over by a vet and given their rabies vaccinations. They were then transferred into the care of NSALA and transported up to New York for adoption.

I was joined at the shoot by Joan of Art Photography. Joan took some amazing photos and you can click here to check out a slide show of her photos.

It was a really wonderful experience getting to film the event and we really enjoyed editing this highlights film:

New Trailer Song

We're trying out a new wedding trailer song this year. Below is Meagan & Scotty's trailer. They were the Q108 Wedding Giveaway Winners. We had a great time at their wedding and the trailer was included in the Keepsake Wedding Videography Package that they won. The trailer is posted online within 2 weeks of the wedding date and is just a little teaser to watch while couples are waiting for their final films to be edited. It is also included on the final DVDs. Enjoy!

A Country Chapel

We LOVE filming at A Country Chapel. It's one of my favorite ceremony and reception locations and we always have a great time working there. This past Saturday, we filmed April & Josh's wedding day at the chapel. It was a wonderful wedding, even with the inclement weather.
